Rush Pediatric Endocrinology

The Section of Pediatric Endocrinology provides children and adolescents with evaluation and treatment for hormonal irregularities and diabetes

The Section of Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism features a multidisciplinary team composed of a pediatric endocrinologist, pediatric endocrine nurse practitioners, physician assistants and dietitians who work together to provide children with the best possible care.

MEET OUR TEAM

Stelios Mantis, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Rush Medical College. He completed medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, his residency at Loyola University Medical Center, and his fellowship at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He is board certified in Pediatric Endocrinology and Pediatrics and has clinical expertise in adrenal gland disorders, adrenal insufficiency, diabetes, diabetes insipidus, Graves' disease, hypo/hyperparathyroidism, hypo/hyperthyroidism, metabolic syndrome, pituitary disorders, precocious puberty, short stature, Turner syndrome, and vitamin D deficiency. Additionally, he is fluent in Greek and Spanish.

 

Carla Minutti, MD, is the Chief of the Section of Endocrinology in the Department of Pediatrics. She completed medical school at the University of Anahuac School of Medicine in Mexico, her residency at the University of Illinois Medical Center, and her fellowship at Mayo Clinic. She is board certified in Pediatric Endocrinology and Pediatrics and she has clinical expertise in adrenal gland disorders, diabetes, endocrine disorders, hyper/hypothyroidism, obesity, pituitary disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and thyroid disease. Additionally, she is fluent in Italian and Spanish.

Anna Spagnoli, MD, is the Woman's Board Professor of Pediatrics as well as a Chairperson of the Department of Pediatrics at Rush Medical College. She completed medical school at the University of Rome Tor Vergata School of Medicine in Italy, and her residency and fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital. She is board certified in Pediatric Endocrinology and has clinical expertise in adrenal gland disorders, diabetes, diabetes insipidus, endocrine disorders, hypo/hyperparathyroidism, hypo/hyperthyroidism, hypoglycemia, metabolic syndrome, osteopenia, pituitary disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), precocious puberty, and short stature. Additionally, she is fluent in Italian and has research interests in bone disorders in children.
